Job Title: Lifeguard

Shift Schedule: 7 Days a week
Position Description
As a member of the Parks NB team, you will be an Ambassador for Parks NB.
The successful candidates will be responsible to ensure safety for all park visitors within their area of responsibility. The duties and responsibilities include:
- Encouraging water and beach safety through supervision and public education
- Setting up, checking, and maintaining equipment
- Maintaining in-service training requirements
- Educating swimmers about environmental hazards and safety
- Ensuring that the area of responsibility is safe and free of environmental hazards
- Completing daily and seasonal reports, and other administrative duties
- Administering first aid
- Respecting and enforcing aquatic rules and regulations
Working Environment:
Working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Working amongst a supportive team in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Need to have:
- Minimum 16 years of age, Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid (need not be current) from a recognized organization).
- Some positions require spoken competence in both English and French while some positions require spoken competence in either English or French.
- Prior to appointment, you may be required to obtain a criminal record check for work with the vulnerable sector.
- Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certificate
SALARY: From $14.75 to $18.50 per hour (based on years of experience).
